Back in 2007, Darwinian evolution arose as a hot topic during the presidential campaign for the 2008 election. Now, as we draw ever nearer to 2012, presidential candidates are once again being put in the spotlight for their views on evolution, as we are even now witnessing with the recent scrutiny of Rick Perry. On this episode of ID the Future, Logan Gage takes a look at why it even matters whether or not the President accepts Darwinian evolution. Why has it become so necessary for politicians to take a stance on scientific issues?

Logan Paul Gage

Logan Paul Gage is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Franciscan University of Steubenville. Dr. Gage received his B.A. in history, philosophy, and American studies from Whitworth College (2004) and his M.A. (2011) and Ph.D. (2014) in philosophy from Baylor University. His dissertation, written under the supervision of Trent Dougherty, was a defense of the phenomenal conception of evidence and conservative principles in epistemology.
