Michael Denton: Remarkable Coincidences in Photosynthesis

On this episode of ID the Future, we listen in on a few minutes from a lecture given by CSC Senior Fellow Michael Denton. We’ve all heard of the importance of photosynthesis as an oxygen creating process. In this segment, Denton explains the “remarkable set of coincidences” which makes the creation of oxygen through photosynthesis possible. From the specific energy of visible light to the unique properties of water, this degree of improbability screams DESIGN. For more from Denton, this time focusing on H2O itself, take a look at his new book, The Wonder of Water.

Dr. Richard Sternberg: Whale Evolution and Living Waters, Pt. 2

On this second episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin interviews Dr. Richard Sternberg, evolutionary biologist and CSC Senior Fellow, whose discussion of whale origins is featured in Illustra Media’s new documentary, Living Waters: Intelligent Design in the Oceans of the Earth. Sternberg critiques conventional accounts of whale evolution, noting that neither natural selection or neutral drift cannot explain the transition between a land mammal and a fully aquatic whale. Standard evolutionary models would either require very large breeding population sizes (greater than that of any species of mammals) or a waiting period four or more times longer than the given 8-9 million years.

Dr. Cornelius Hunter: False Predictions of Darwinian Evolution, pt. 4

On this episode of ID the Future, Casey Luskin talks with Dr. Cornelius Hunter — a Discovery Institute Fellow, adjunct professor, and author — about his website Darwin’s Predictions, which critically examines 22 fundamental predictions of evolutionary theory. In this fourth and final podcast of the series, Dr. Hunter discusses evolution’s failed prediction that competition should be greatest between neighbors.

The Top 10 Problems with Darwinian Evolution, pt. 1

On this episode of ID the Future, hear the first podcast in a series discussing the top 10 problems with biological and chemical evolution. This series is based upon Casey Luskin’s chapter in the volume More than Myth, edited by Paul Brown and Robert Stackpole (Chartwell Press, 2014). In this first segment, Casey discusses how there is no viable mechanism to generate a primordial soup.

Examining the Evidence for Evolution, pt. 5

On this episode of ID the Future, hear part five of a recent talk Casey Luskin gave on evolution and intelligent design, in which he presents some of the biggest problems with the case for Darwinian evolution. In this segment, Casey discusses how fossil record evidence fails to support Darwinian evolution.

The Universe Next Door: Scientism in the Age of Obama

On this episode of ID the Future, John West is on The Universe Next Door with Tom Woodward discussing the re-release of his book Darwin Day in America, which describes the growing misuse of science to curtail basic freedoms, erode time-honored ethics, and circumvent democratic accountability. Tune in as Dr. West explains why the book needed an update, giving a look into his new chapter “Scientism in the Age of Obama — and Beyond.”

Eric Metaxas: Does Science Mean the Death of God?

Eric_Metaxas

Does a commitment to science mean the death of God? On this episode of ID the Future, hear from bestselling author Eric Metaxas about his new book “Miracles: What They Are, Why They Happen, and How They Can Change Your Life.” Metaxas discusses the scientific evidence that points towards, rather than away from, a creator, and addresses the straw man critiques of his popular WSJ article “Science Increasingly Makes the Case for God.”
