Delivering the Overwhelming Evidence About Intelligent Design To Students

On this episode of ID The Future we have an interview with ID proponent, Sam Chen, one of the developers and moderators of the new website overwhelmingevidence.com. According to the OE website: “Overwhelming Evidence is a site where high school students can network and communicate their views on intelligent design and evolution. … This site is meant to encourage students to explore the facts, report the facts, and debate the facts.”

Academic Freedom Under Attack: New Disclosures in Baylor Tenure Scandal

This episode of IDTF focuses on yet another case of academic freedom being withheld from a scholar because of his views on intelligent design. Baylor University recently denied tenure to noted scholar, and CSC Fellow, Francis Beckwith. Beckwith is an impeccable scholar with a distinguished publication record, and his colleagues are becoming incensed at his treatment.

New Book Explores the Case for Purpose and Meaning in Our World

“A Meaningful World is simply the best book I’ve seen on the purposeful design of nature.

Michael J. Behe, author of Darwin’s Black Box

Standing in stark contrast to contemporary claims that the world is meaningless, A Meaningful World: How the Arts and Sciences Reveal the Genius of Nature reveals a cosmos charged with both meaning and purpose.

A Good Education Demands We Teach Darwin’s Theory With A Critical Eye

In this episode of ID The Future, we look at what critical analysis of evolution really is and why it’s needed in science classes today. In his book, Origin of the Species, Charles Darwin wrote about the necessity for critical analysis in all academic endeavors stating that, “A fair result can be obtained only by fully stating and balancing the facts and arguments on both sides of each question.”

Biologist and CSC senior fellow Jonathan Wells agrees.

“If students are to learn science, and not merely be indoctrinated in Darwinism as an unquestionable dogma,” says Wells, author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Darwinism and Intelligent Design, “they must analyze the actual evidence for and against it.”

Stand Up For Science

Stand Up For Science, Stand Up For Kansas

Should public schools censor scientific evidence just because it challenges Darwin’s theory of evolution? Or, should teachers present ALL the scientific evidence, including both the strengths and weaknesses of evolutionary theory?

Dissent From Darwinian Evolution Goes Global

A Scientific Dissent From Darwinism — www.dissentfromdarwin.com During recent decades, new scientific evidence from many scientific disciplines such as cosmology, physics, biology, “artificial intelligence” research, and others have caused scientists to begin questioning Darwinism’s central tenet of natural selection and studying the evidence supporting it in greater detail. Yet public TV programs, educational policy statements, and science textbooks have asserted that Darwin’s theory of evolution fully explains the complexity of living things. The public has been assured that all known evidence supports Darwinism and that virtually every scientist in the world believes the theory to be true. The scientists on this list dispute the first claim and stand as living testimony in contradiction to the second. Since Discovery Institute launched this list in 2001 over 600 scientists have courageously stepped forward to sign their names. The list is growing and includes scientists from the US National Academy of Sciences, Russian, Polish and Czech National Academies, as well as from universities such as Yale, Princeton, Stanford, MIT, UC Berkeley, UCLA, and others. A Scientific Dissent From Darwinism “We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged.” There is scientific dissent to Darwinism. It deserves to be heard. Finally, if you have a Ph.D. in engineering, mathematics, computer science, biology, chemistry, or one of the other natural sciences, and you agree with the following statement, “We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged,” then please contact us at cscinfo@discovery.org. South Carolina Requires Students to Critically Analyze Evolution

The South Carolina Education Oversight Committee unanimously ratified high school biology standards requiring students to understand why “scientists continue to investigate and critically analyze aspects of evolutionary theory.” The South Carolina State Board of Education adopted the standards unanimously last month, and submitted them to the EOC for approval. South Carolina’s new evolution standard does not require teaching the theory of intelligent design.
