On this episode of ID The Future, CSC’s Casey Luskin examines National Geographic’s pro-evolution article “From Fins to Wings,” by Carl Zimmer which quotes Harvard microbiologist Howard Berg saying “The basic idea of evolution is so elegant, so beautiful, so simple.” As Luskin shows, the article misses the target in a number of ways. Luskin asks In our experience, does a “simple” process generate the type of vast complexity found throughout biology? Then he shows that Zimmer’s answer is a just-so story.
On this episode of ID The Future, CSC’s Casey Luskin examines the recent crusade against religion by the world’s foremost Darwinist, Richard Dawkins. In a recent BBC news article Dawkins claimed that America is ready for an attack on religion. What is Dawkins’ attack? He aims to convince people that the religions of their upbringing are nonsense and that life comes about through purely natural, Darwinian processes.
Recently, at the CSC 10th Anniversary Dinner, we were fortunate to have the opportunity to spend a wonderful evening with CSC senior fellow, and author of Darwin’s Black Box, Michael Behe along with nationally syndicated radio commentator Michael Medved. Medved interviewed Behe for nearly an hour and gave us all a unique look at Behe as a biochemist, a professor and an author. In this clip, Medved asks Behe how it is he came to be a dissenter from Darwin’s theory of evolution.
On this episode of ID The Future CSC’s Logan Gage asks, who wrote Richard Dawkins’ latest book, The God Delusion? Gage interviews AEI’s Joe Manzari who questioned Dawkins about this at a recent event promoting the book. A strong determinist, which Dawkins would seem to be as a staunchly atheistic Darwinist, believes that everything is pre-determined by material processes. So, taking credit for writing a book is illogical. Does Dawkins believe determinism is true? Does he think people are responsible for their actions or not?

Last school year Beckwith was denied tenure, in part for his legal opinion that it is constitutional to teach about intelligent design in science classes. The denial of tenure to a legal scholar as acclaimed as Beckwith ignited a several month controversy, which has happily ended with Beckwith receiving tenure after appealing the original decision.
