On this episode the CSC’s Logan Gage provides an insightful review into Dr. Francis Collins’ recent book, The Language of God. According to Gage, Collins gives an excellent overview of design in physics and cosmology. Yet, when it comes to biology, Collins gets hung up on a common misperception about ID in biology, namely that it is an argument from ignorance. Gage shows how Collins’ view of design in cosmology is at odds with his dismissal of the possibility of design in biology.

On this episode of the ID The Future podcast Casey Luskin looks at what evolution has given us. Recently some mainstream scientists have been discussing what practical benefits Darwinian evolution holds for society? Surprisingly, they see little practical applications for Darwinian evolution, going so far as to admit that “evolution hasn’t yielded many practical or commercial benefits.” Last year, National Academy of Sciences member Phillip Skell made the observation last year that Darwinism is not the foundation of all biological research, and indeed exerts little influence in much of the research being done today.

On this episode of ID The Future podcast, Casey Luskin interviews CSC senior fellow Jonathan Wells, who explains that Lysenkoism, where the core element is the use of government positions to deprive critics of their jobs, is alive in well in the American sciences today.

Ten years ago, biochemist Michael Behe helped to launch the modern intelligent design movement. when he outlined the theory of irreducible complexity in his book Darwin’s Black Box: The Biochemical Challenge to Evolution, which dared to question the basic tenets of Darwinism.

Arguing that unintelligent accounts failed to explain the development of irreducibly complex systems such as blood clotting, the human immune system and the bacterial flagellum, Darwin’s Black Box was internationally reviewed in over one hundred publications and named one of the 100 most important books of the 20th century by National Review and World magazine. There are now a quarter million copies in print.

Reading the reasons scientists give in their writings it is clear they base their opposition on a mischaracterization of ID, and a general misunderstanding of the what the theory proposes and what its proponents advocate. First Modern Science Text on Intelligent Design, Darwin’s Black Box, Celebrates New 10th Anniversary Edition

This episode of ID The Future podcast features an interview with Lehigh University professor of biology, biochemist Dr. Michael Behe, on the ocassion of the 10th anniversary of his groundbreaking book, Darwin’s Black Box.

On this episode of IDTF we bring to your attention the bias against intelligent design that runs through Wikipedia. The Wikipedia is becoming a prominent website for people to turn to for information about all manner of subjects. It’s unique twist is that it lets web browses update and correct entries. Except about intelligent design or evolution. The site is full of basic inaccuracies that have little or nothing to do with the actual debate over evolution and design. And, when it comes to their information regarding the theories, it is squarely opposed to telling the truth, siding with the worst evolution arguments out there. To make matters worse, these entries are forbidden to be changed, updated or corrected by design supporters.

In his book The Republican War on Science, Chris Mooney declares war on intelligent design, calling it a “reactionary crusade” promoted by “[s]cience abusers.” Discovery Institute now responds to Mooney’s war on intelligent design (ID) by publishing a detailed report authored by Casey Luskin, “Whose War Is It, Anyway? Exposing Chris Mooney’s Attack on Intelligent Design,” documenting 14 major errors Mooney makes when writing about ID in his book.
